Kids 'n MotionKids`n`Motion is a half hour Preschool music & movement programme which involves parents/caregivers participating with their children. The session incorporates singing, rhymes, action songs, use of musical instruments and creative free movement. The music session is followed by morning tea and a 1/2 hr free playtime allowing interaction for both parents/caregivers and children. Kids`n`Motion is held during term time at 9.45 at the Village & Valley Centre, access off Cambridge Avenue. There is no charge for attendance but a gold coin donation is appreciated.ViewMap

Grove of the Four DragonsThis open-to-all, community-based grove gathers several times a year--especially at solstices and equinoxes--to bring people together to support one another's spiritual development, to build a sense of community, and to participate in ceremonies that honour the participation of humans in the natural world. The grove is led by Adrian Bill Phillips, a Druid Of the Order of Bards, Ovates and Druids. Awahou PlaygroupAwahou Playgroup provides a place for parents and preschool children to meet on a regular basis. It is funded by the Ministry of Education. We meet at Awahou School on Wednesdays, from 9.30 a.m. to 12 noon, during the school terms. We aim to provide a range of educational activities to foster children's learning and development, along with a chance for parents/carers to get to know each other in an informal setting. The children have the opportunity to play in a child centered environment using a wide range of toys suitable for preschoolers. There is also an outdoor play area suitable for the under 5s, within the school boundaries.
